Peppard Building Supplies are delighted to be sponsoring the Reading Abbey Club RFC bar for the 2024/25 season.
- Started in the early 1950's Reading Abbey started as a youth side meeting the demand from boys who went to non-ruby playing schools
- By 1956 Abbey RFC was formed playing in the towns public park and moving from pub to pub for changing and post match refreshments
- By 1971 the club had managed to raise enough money to buy 22 acres of grounds and this combined with hard work and renewed energy to a permanent venue resulted in the creation of three pitches and a clubhouse
- The change of venue and every growing membership rapidly established the club as one of the leading in the area for adult and youth, male and female rugby
- Their youth side are proud to have had representation at Club and International levels
